A Toronto man wanted to go to jail so he could watch the Blue Jays game today

I can only imagine excitement’s running high in Toronto today. The Blue Jays, after a 22-year absence from the playoffs, are taking on the Texas Rangers in the fifth game of the ALDS. A win sends them to the next round, while a loss means they return home to Toronto. High stakes! Surely, many Torontonians are trying to figure out where the heck to watch the game today. As one man learned after calling up the police earlier this morning, jail is not that place.

Toronto Police, evidently, responded to a call from a man “asking to go to jail so he could watch the game today.” No one was there when the police showed up, however.

Global News reports there’s not even TVs in the Toronto holding cells, so this guy would’ve been out of luck anyway. Someone should probably tell this guy about the giant screen showing the game in downtown Toronto.
