'Back to the Future' who? Here's the REAL reason October 21 is iconic
Back to the Future II is a movie (????) about hoverboards. Everyone keeps talking about it today because today is October 21, 2015, the day that a hoverboard in the movie gets its wish or something. Some people have even gone so far as to call today “Back to the Future Day.”
Those people are monsters.
The real reason why October 21, 2015, should be celebrated is that it is both Amber Rose‘s 32nd birthday and Kim Kardashian West‘s 35th birthday. Amber Rose is an outspoken, sex-positive, intersectional feminist and model, who recently hosted a SlutWalk event in Los Angeles.
Kim Kardashian West is a reality TV mogul-turned-mobile gaming empress and easily the single greatest performance artist of our time.
They are both brilliant pop-cultural figures and fascinating human beings, and I will always celebrate human beings over hoverboards. I don’t care if it’s four hoverboards stacked in a trench coat. You can’t fool me!!!!
Amber and Kim’s lives already feel inextricably linked: Kim is married to Amber’s ex, Kanye West; they have both recreated Jean-Paul Goude photographs; Amber publicly called out Kim’s sister, Khloé, for making disparaging, slut-shaming comments about her; Tyga left Amber’s friend, Blac Chyna, for Kylie Jenner, another of Kim’s sisters. After all that, to find out that the two super famous women have kind of been connected since birth is nothing short of a revelation—a revelation that hoverboards can go to hell.
Bad at filling out bios seeks same.
