Puerto Rico Is Still Underwater and Trump Is Threatening to Stop the Federal Recovery Effort

Nearly three weeks after Hurricane Maria, the majority of Puerto Rico is still without electricity, and thousands of people are struggling to find food and clean water. Despite these dire conditions, however, President Trump is now threatening to pull FEMA and military officials away from the island’s recovery efforts.

This would be a humanitarian catastrophe.
