Waitress gets a very chill $1,000 tip to help her pay for college

Alesha Palmer is an 18-year-old high school senior from Texas with plans to attend Tyler Junior College in the fall. She works 30 hours a week at the local Italian restaurant, Vetoni’s in Gun Barrel. She was overheard discussing the difficulties of paying for college with a customer last Saturday night when an apparently mysterious man overheard her, and left a $1,000 tip on his $9.69 bill, ABC Tyler reports.

“We were at the hostess stand and the guy had just walked out and I said, ‘Mike, did I do something wrong?,'” Palmer told ABC News. (Mike is the owner of the restaurant.) “He said, ‘I wish I knew that man’s name. This is a first.'”

She said put the tip into her savings account. Smart move.
