Jeb Bush jokes 'Washington' is the pejorative term, not 'Redskins'

Latest

Like any human being, Jeb Bush has a bunch of opinions. Unlike many human beings, Jeb Bush is a candidate for the President of the United States of America, and as a result, his opinions often find themselves just chillin’ in public. One of those opinions graced the radio airwaves of Hugh Hewitt’s show yesterday, and we will say this: it is definitely an opinion.

Hewitt’s first question for Jeb, who didn’t smoke pot with Bill Belichick, prompted Bush to discuss the tendency of “the media” to “overplay D.C stories a little bit.” (Later in the interview, it’s made clear Hewitt was referencing the reports of chaos in the aftermath of Kevin McCarthy dropping out of the Speaker race). Bush launched into a joke:

The big argument about the Washington Redskins, the Redskins being a pejorative term, I think Washington is a pejorative term, not the Redskins, so they’ll get through it, they’ll figure it out.

Bush went on to further condemn the “complete dysfunction” of Washington.
