Mother of screaming baby in restaurant receives nasty note, manager makes it up to her

Who’s crying now?

According to local TV station KTVB, Nampa, Idaho mom Katie Leach was out dining with her family, including her 10-month-old son, when the trouble began. After some diners did not appreciate the noise her child was making, they delivered a hostile note communicating how they felt.

“Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you,” the note said.

Leach was the first to admit that her child was indeed screaming. However, she contends that the screaming was not out of maliciousness to ruin the meals of those around her, but just screams of innocent joy.

“He was not yelling to be mean or because he was mad, it was purely from excitement and being happy,” she said to KTVB.

This argument held water with the restaurant’s manager, who reportedly asked the two note-passers to leave, and then paid for Leach’s meal.

Was this the right move? Thankfully, KTVB seems to have an abundance of infant behaviorology experts among its Facebook commenters.

Even an official company spokesman for Texas Roadhouse appeared to endorse the young boy. When reached for comment by KTVB, spokesman Travis Doster said “We are proud to be loud. If you want to hear clinking wine glasses and clinking forks, then this probably isn’t the place for you.”

Texas Roadhouse: fans of eating and screaming since 2015.
