Dear Anonymous Senior House Democrat, Go Fuck Yourself

If you want to play detective to try to figure out who this is, here’s a list of House members sorted by seniority. I’m putting my money on the guy at the top of the list, but there are other good candidates too. We didn’t arrive at this moment through one person’s listless incompetence, that’s for sure.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called on this coward to retire, but frankly that is too kind of a fate for them. This kind of poisonous anti-democratic and defeatist mindset permeates throughout the upper crust of the party, and we can only excise this disease through solutions far more dramatic than letting them walk away with any honor and dignity. We must strip them of their honor and dignity altogether as a message to other Democrats to either get on board with the fight brought to their doorstep or step aside for someone else willing to meet the moment.

Trump should get to fire this senior House Democrat. Do it on TV in primetime, then force the anonymous senior House Democrat to walk back home from Washington D.C. while their constituents pelt them with rotten vegetables the entire way. Get Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary to add their name as a synonym for coward. Not only should these kinds of Democrats be chased out of office, they should be barred from polite society forever. They are liabilities to the project of making America a better place for everyone to live, and their only usefulness to it is standing aside for a more competent group of politicians and voting how they’re told to. They have proven that their feeble brains cannot handle a task more complex than following orders from someone more powerful than them.

We had two historic moments occur this weekend. An attempted assassination that only a fool would believe was a false flag, and this quote providing a perfect capstone to an entire era of decrepit Democratic politics. Us cynics on the left have long said that the party elite does not actually care about gaining power and just prefers to protect their own small cadre of bought and paid for friends, and this quote is an admission from at least one person that we are one hundred percent correct.

Fuck these people. They lecture us about saving democracy and how important this election is, then they call up their favored reporters and tell them anonymously that it’s all hopeless. They are world-historic frauds.

We are watching the death of an era and a rebirth of a new world. It’s far too early to assume where this development will take us over the coming years, but the neoliberal hellscape built by people like this anonymous senior House Democrat has had a big hand in our current apocalyptic malaise. These spineless meat shields for capital allied themselves with conservative forces, betraying the Great Society built by the last Democrat who understood power and how to wield it. Now that capital has lined up behind a true anti-democratic force who is now something of a sympathetic figure, these empty suits are just cluelessly shrugging their shoulders because they only know how to run against something, not for something, because they stand for nothing.

As long as this generation of Democrats are in power, we will never move past the backlash to the progress of the 1960s, and they have proven they will actively allow us to regress past the standards LBJ and a real set of liberals set a generation ago. Donald Trump couldn’t ask for a better ally than this anonymous senior House Democrat and their cowardly friends. If this party had any self-respect this person would be forced to step down today, but instead they’ll probably have an active hand in making Trump’s agenda reality. Welcome to America’s breakdown, accelerated by a generation of cowardly anonymous senior House Democrats who could care less about trying to make the world a better place.
