Pocket guide: Here's where Ben Carson stands on the issues

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson became on Monday perhaps the Republican Party’s most unlikely presidential candidate.

Carson gained notoriety within the party and with grassroots conservatives after delivering a blistering critique of President Barack Obama’s health-care law — right in front of his face — at a breakfast they both attended in 2013.

Carson might be the GOP’s most interesting candidate. He also might be its most controversial, considering some of his past comments on social issues.
