He was allowed to remain free until a three-judge panel on a federal appeals court in Washington ruled the verdict to be appropriate. Bannon’s lawyers are going to appeal the decision, but Judge Carl J. Nichols, who was appointed by Trump, revoked his bail and said that unless the full appeals court takes their case and issues a pause in the next four weeks, Bannon’s going right to jail. Right away.
The thought of Steve Bannon in prison is kind of funny, as this rotten pile of cookie dough who has made a career out of talking immense amounts of shit now finds himself in a situation where doing that requires one to actually back it up. I’m genuinely curious as to how he will spend his days in prison should this appeals court not rescue him from his own hubris. What other interests does this schmuck even have outside of squatting in front of any camera he can find and bloviating into a microphone?
Look at this cope, it’s beautiful.
The big picture in all of this has not been highlighted best by the man running against Bannon’s meal ticket, but gasbag sports-talk guy Colin Cowherd, hopefully the future DNC Chair:
“Donald Trump is now a felon. His campaign chairman was a felon. So is his deputy campaign manager, his personal lawyer, his chief strategist, his National Security Adviser, his Trade Adviser, his Foreign Policy advisor, his campaign fixer and his company CFO. They’re all felons. Judged by the company you keep, it’s a cabal of convicts.”
Of course there are more serious and heavy aspects to this, like how Bannon and his cabal of convicts are helping to erode democracy. His inevitable bleating against this prison term will certainly undermine more confidence in our system as it seemingly barrels towards some kind of systemic shock. There’s a lot of evil that comes along with the Steve Bannon experience, which is why we have to enjoy little wins like this. See you again in November Steve, assuming you can survive that long without being in front of a camera.
