Trump says that the DNC hacker could be 'somebody sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds'

During tonight’s presidential debate, Donald Trump took a bold and unexpected stance against obese computer hackers.

While talking about cybersecurity, Trump brought up the hack of the Democratic National Committee. Security researchers and U.S. intelligence officials have expressed “high confidence” that agents of G.R.U., Russia’s military intelligence service, were behind the breach, which saw thousands of documents and emails stolen from DNC servers.

But Trump has an alternate theory: what if the DNC hack wasn’t Russia’s doing, but was the work of “somebody sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds?”

Here’s the clip:

Trump, whose admiration for Russian president Vladimir Putin has been well-documented, will no doubt begin a vigorous investigation of all overweight hackers with access to the same metadata that experts have said constitute a “smoking gun” linking Russian intelligence agents to the DNC attack.
