Caitlyn Jenner Won't Let a Little Thing Like Trump's Trans Ban Come Between Them
It’s been little over a week (aka .9 Scaramuccis) since our president announced out of nowhere that transgender soldiers would be banned from serving in the military. The tweets were met with a swift backlash from citizens to soldiers to trans people to the military to celebrities. One of these celebrities was Caitlyn Jenner, the most famous trans person in the world.
Jenner wrote in a post on her website, “I believe every American should be outraged by the disrespect shown to those people wearing our country’s uniform.” She also went on to write, “America’s 15,000 trans service members and 134,000 veterans are much braver than you, Mr. Trump; my allegiance is with them and our country, not you.”
So with all this allegiance talk in mind, it’s kind of funny that TMZ caught her yesterday driving a very gleeful-looking car, wearing a Make America Great Again hat.
Sigh. Once again, Jenner proves that she will stand up for the trans community—to a point. Obviously, it’s not surprising at all seeing as her idea of a protest is not playing golf with Trump because he rescinded the guidelines that gave trans students the right to use the bathroom that corresponded with their gender identity.
So for her to don the MAGA hat is simply more proof that she suffers from the signature Kardashian-Jenner dissonance that lets her speak out to keep her name in headlines and then go back to Calabasas life as she knows it, completely unaffected. At the end of the day she still supports a man who has dedicated his presidential tenure to degrading the rights of every marginalized community in the country, including hers.
