These GIFs of insanely fast workers are totally hypnotic

My new favorite time-wasting spot on the internet is r/fastworkers, a subreddit dedicated to GIFs and videos of talented workers being insanely fast and accurate at their jobs. There is something hypnotic about watching people who are so experienced at doing a repetitive manual task that the motions have become automatic, while knowing that it took them years of practice to develop that kind of speed and consistency.

Don’t believe me? Just look at these people!

This taco stand worker is en fuego.

This Japanese cake-packer is killing it.

And this gift-wrapper has the gift of speed.

Nobody has ever stamped papers as fast as this woman.

This pancake flipper is a freak of nature.

And this mango-peeler is a samurai.

But this guy is Fruit Ninja IRL.

This carpenter is really nailing it.

And this roti-maker is flippin’ amazing.

This butcher takes apart an entire animal with frightening speed.

But my favorite of the bunch might be these Japanese mochi-makers, who have turned what could have been a dull occupation into a high-stakes game of whack-a-mole.
