George H.W. Bush reportedly said he's going to vote for Hillary Clinton
A 90-something retired World War II veteran revealed yesterday that he plans to vote for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election. No, it wasn’t my grandfather, it was former President George H.W. Bush (the first one, not the sequel).
Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend (that’s Kennedy as in JFK, Bobby, etc.) posted a photo of herself with the retired president on Facebook yesterday along with the caption “The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!”
Townsend confirmed the story in a phone call with Politico, saying the president told her he plans to vote for a Democrat.
“That’s what he said,” she told the site. (Bush’s people said only that he’s not going to talk about who he’s voting for.)
Will Bush’s vote be enough to tip the balance and turn Texas blue in the upcoming election? Almost certainly not. There’s still at least a one vote margin of error among Texas voters with the last name “Bush” who used to be president.
