If You Support Elon and DOGE, You Hate the Constitution

We are at a fork in the road for many Americans’ core political credibility. A lot of people in this country love to wax poetic about the Constitution, especially those on the right. Our foundational document is treated as sacrosanct, as many conservatives consider any violation of their originalist vision of the Constitution to be a betrayal of America itself. That is, unless an unelected billionaire from apartheid South Africa decides to wipe his ass with it, then “conservatives” will cheer on the destruction of everything they say they value because there is no principle more highly valued on the right than owning the libs.

It’s very simple. If you are happy with the unelected Elon Musk barnstorming into the government and taking over as the de facto head of it without any kind of democratic process or checks on his power, then you don’t respect the Constitution. You detest it, in fact. You despise the Constitution so much that you think the ketamine-induced whims of one of our most deranged billionaires are more important than the Bill of Rights. This is clear as day, as the New York Times even reports that “Several former and current senior government officials — even those who like what he is doing — expressed a sense of helplessness about how to handle Mr. Musk’s level of unaccountability.”

Supporting DOGE is supporting a billionaire-led coup of the United States government. This is not up for debate. You can try to rationalize cost cutting and trimming fat in the government all you want, but this is not how to go about doing it. If “conservatives” really were concerned about cutting the fat while not trampling the Constitution, they could use their Congressional majority to pass pretty much whatever spending measures they wanted. Nearly all the cuts Elon is targeting could be done legally simply by just going through a Congress that they control.

But Congressional Republicans hate the Constitution so much that they are willing to give up everything they have spent their lives building so they can bend the knee and watch Elon usurp all of their power. “Conservatives” in Congress have exposed themselves these past couple weeks, as they are more than happy to give up their personal agency, and Elon’s coup proves conclusively that elected Republican is just a synonym for billionaire bootlicker. These braindead lemmings are beyond pathetic, as Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis even admitted to NOTUS that what Musk is doing “runs afoul of the Constitution in the strictest sense.” And yet, he’s fine with what Elon is doing because Republicans are more than happy to run afoul of the Constitution if it means they get to upset liberals and empower billionaires.

If you think one of the largest defense contractors with endless conflicts of interests with his businesses, especially in China, is barging into government to steal millions of people’s information in a bid to cut costs, you are a bigger mark than people who still think professional wresting is real. Billionaires rely on people like you to hold on to their power, as they convince a nation of temporarily embarrassed millionaires that their priorities are your priorities when they manifestly are not. Elon is taking money out of Republicans’ pockets and many of them are cheering him on.

Elon Musk has taken over the United States government, and it’s not hard to imagine how “conservatives” would react if George Soros did the same thing. It would be the only thing they talk about all day every day, for good reason because it’s a fucking coup. Every “conservative” cheering Elon is proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that they don’t actually care about cutting costs or stopping the endless march of billionaire power into our daily lives, or even any real sense of American Constitutional tradition, they just want to break things and own the libs.

There are no core principles at play here, and in fact, this is the clearest example I have ever seen of how “conservatives” stated core principles are wholly bankrupt. If you are okay with Elon Musk appointing himself the head of state, then you are good with quite literally, any violation of the Constitution. I don’t ever want to hear “conservatives” lecture anyone about the Constitution ever again–everyone supporting Elon’s coup has proven for the whole world to see that they don’t give a scintilla of a fuck about it.
