All credible evidence reviewed by police supports the notion that Scott was armed with a gun as he waited in his car for his son to get out of school, proving he posed an imminent deadly threat to officers, Murray said.

“Everyone who has seen the video can feel the tension in that situation,” Murray told reporters.

A Colt semi-automatic firearm, with one round in the chamber, the safety off and the gun cocked, was found at the scene where Scott was killed, and forensic analysis found that Scott’s DNA was on the gun, the district attorney said.
