Republican Congressman Gushes About His Meeting With Julian Assange

Republican Representative Dana Rohrabacher flew across the pond this week for a totally not weird meeting with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. On the hunt for information proving that Russian operatives actually didn’t hack the DNC, Rohrabacher had a three hour conversation with Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Rohrabacher allegedly got his hands on some receipts — or whatever receipts Assange supposedly had. “Our three-hour meeting covered a wide array of issues, including the WikiLeaks exposure of the DNC emails during last year’s presidential election,” Rohrabacher told The Hill. “Julian emphatically stated that the Russians were not involved in the hacking or disclosure of those emails.”

While Rohrabacher refused to elaborate on how exactly Assange is so sure Russian hackers weren’t responsible for the DNC hack, the California House Representative was adamant about existence of evidence. Rohrabacher plans deliver this valuable intel directly to President Trump.

“We left with the understanding that we would be going into further details in the near future,” Rohrabacher added. “The rest of the message is for the president directly and I hope to convey it to him as more details come in.”

Assange’s convictions aside, the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment of the DNC hack contends that Russians were responsible. Though Assange’s evaluation has certainly piqued Trump’s interest and favor. Rohrabacher, who happened to be the first Congressman to meet with Assange, seems to be doing the president’s bidding.

And in case you’re curious, Assange is living his best life in the Ecuadorian embassy, where he’s lived for years, possibly on an inflatable mattress. Rohrabacher gushed, “Contrary to what the fake news media has alleged Julian seemed in good health and committed to his principles.”

Ah, like these principles?
