In a bizarre tirade that wouldn’t feel at all out of place on The Daily Stormer, President Donald Trump regaled a crowd in Youngstown, OH, on Tuesday night with a terrifying tale about “animal” undocumented immigrants who “slice and dice” young teenage girls.
Here’s what he said, via The Toronto Star’s Daniel Dale (emphasis mine):
The predators and criminal aliens who poison our communities with drugs and prey on innocent young people — these beautiful, beautiful, innocent young people — will find no safe haven anywhere in our country. And you’ve seen the stories about some of these animals. They don’t want to use guns, because it’s too fast and it’s not painful enough. So they’ll take a young, beautiful girl, 16, 15, and others, and they slice them and dice them with a knife, because they want them to go through excruciating pain before they die. And these are the animals that we’ve been protecting for so long. Well, they’re not being protected any longer, folks.
It’s the same kind of anti-immigrant fear-mongering that got him elected, but it remains deeply surreal to listen to the president wax baselessly on about sadistic murderers to a stadium full of his most ardent supporters.
Oh, and Trump also said that with “the exception of the late, great, Abraham Lincoln, I can be more presidential than any president that’s ever held this office.”

- A news item that got buried amid all Senate’s healthcare catastrophe yesterday: Paul Manafort, the high-powered Washington lobbyist who was chairman of Trump’s campaign, met with Senate Intelligence Committee investigators on Tuesday to discuss the now-infamous meeting with a Russian lawyer who promised damaging material about Hillary Clinton.
- North Korea will likely be putting the finishing touches on a nuclear missile capable of reaching the U.S. within a year.
- The House overwhelmingly approved new sanctions on Russia last night by a vote of 419-3. The measure would allow Congress to block any attempts by the White House to water down the Russia sanctions.
