Here Is a Real Thing a United States Senator Said Today

President Donald Trump got to eat his favorite meal of rice and cherry pie  at his lunch with Republican senators on Tuesday afternoon. So that happened.

But thanks to the intrepid scrum of Capitol Hill reporters, we now know something that definitely didn’t happen, according to Louisiana Senator John Kennedy:

Hmmm.

Kennedy was indeed borrowing from a classic Saturday Night Live sketch, but his response was a helluva lot more interesting than the other read-outs coming out of the meeting—that the lunch was “pleasant,” at least four senators got to ask questions, some of which weren’t even about taxes, and that the food sucked, according to Senator Bob Corker, who’s currently feuding with Trump.
