New documentary goes behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is over, but aside from curated Instagram posts, celebrity front row snapshots, and fashion editor show reviews, there are few opportunities for outsiders to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to attend a show. If your invitation to fashion week got lost in the mail, know this: ABC Family is releasing a documentary, Baring It All: Inside New York Fashion Week, an up-close look at all of the glitz and glamour.

The two-hour documentary focuses on five archetypes who help make fashion week so exciting: The celebrity (Lucy Hale); the designer (Jeremy Scott); the socialite (Caroline Vreeland); the blogger (Katherine Schwarzenegger); and the model (Lameka Fox).

For three of the subjects, it’s their first New York Fashion Week. Viewers will see Lucy Hale get dressed for her first front row show, Lameka Fox attend castings hoping to score her first walk on a NYFW runway, and Katherine Schwarzenegger shadowing Neiman Marcus fashion director Ken Downing. For two of the subjects, fashion week is literally NBD: Caroline Vreeland is the granddaughter of renowned former Vogue editor-in-chief Diane Vreeland, and Jeremy Scott is, well, Jeremy Scott (also creative director of Moschino and close friend to Katy Perry). Baring It All: Inside New York Fashion Week will premiere on ABC Family on October 14th at 9 p.m. (Full disclosure: Fusion is partly owned by ABC.)

Tahirah Hairston is a style writer from Detroit who likes Susan Miller, Rihanna’s friend’s Instagram accounts, ramen and ugly-but cute shoes.
