Sarah Huckabee Sanders Loses It After Being Questioned Over Trump's Silence on Mass Shootings

On Tuesday, Marshall County High School in Benton, KY, became the site of the United States’ 11th school shooting in just the first 24 days of 2018. On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders attempted—with mounting agitation—to baselessly claim that Donald Trump was actively working to stop these massacres.

NBC’s Peter Alexander asked Sanders, “What has the president done since October to try to prevent these shootings from taking place?”

“We’ve tried to crack down on crime throughout the country,” Sanders replied. “The president instructed his administration to make the recent crime wave a top priority.”

So…school kids shooting school kids at a rate exponentially higher than anywhere else in the world is just part of a “crime wave,” I guess, and the president definitely told America to knock it off with all these crimes already.

When Alexander noted that Trump has actually been silent about school shootings and gun violence, Huckabee Sanders lost it.

“Let me be very clear: the fact that you’re basically accusing the president of being complicit in a school shooting is outrageous,” she exclaimed, visibly angry.

Then, after repeating that Trump had told his people to “crack down on crime and prevent these types of things,” she left the room.
