Sarah Huckabee Sanders Turns Into a Malfunctioning Robot Over Rob Porter

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders found herself stuck in a glitch in the matrix on Monday, hopelessly repeating stock platitudes about the Trump administration’s handling of the scandal surrounding former Trump aide Rob Porter’s alleged domestic abuse.

Hammered with questions over the Porter debacle, Huckabee Sanders stuck to a script:

The president and the entire administration take domestic violence very seriously, and believe all allegations need to be investigated thoroughly. Above all the president supports victims of domestic violence, and believes everyone should be treated fairly and with due process.

This is obviously not true, since Trump has repeatedly defended Porter and said nothing at all about the women who say Porter repeatedly abused them. Huckabee Sanders was then asked the obvious question: Why wouldn’t the president just come out and say that himself if he believed it so strongly?

“I spoke to him and he relayed that message directly to me and I’m relaying it directly to you,” Huckabee Sanders replied. She then repeated exactly what she said a few moments earlier.

Things got worse, though. When asked whether Trump continues to “wish Rob Porter well,” as he suggested during his impromptu gaggle last week, Huckabee Sanders offered this word vomit:

I think the president of the United States hopes that all Americans, uh, can, can be successful in whatever they do. Uh, and if they’ve had any issues in the past—I’m not confirming or denying one way or another—but if they do the president wants success for all Americans. And that he was elected to serve all Americans, and he hopes for the best for all American citizens across the country.

What a clear and concise explanation for why the president has high hopes for an accused wife beater.
