Mark Judge's College Girlfriend Is Reportedly Ready to Talk to the FBI

Elizabeth Rasor, the college girlfriend of Mark Judge—the man who, along with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has been accused of assaulting Dr. Christine Blasey Ford at a high school party in the early 1980s—is reportedly willing to talk to investigators about what she knows.

In the report published by The New Yorker on Sunday which detailed Deborah Ramirez’s allegation that Kavanaugh had assaulted her during their time at Yale (an allegation he denies, along with the allegations about Ford), Rasor claimed that Judge had admitted to her that he had participated in what sounds a lot like the sexual assault of an inebriated woman. From the New Yorker report (emphasis mine):

After seeing Judge’s denial, Elizabeth Rasor, who met Judge at Catholic University and was in a relationship with him for about three years, said that she felt morally obligated to challenge his account that “ ‘no horseplay’ took place at Georgetown Prep with women.” Rasor stressed that “under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t reveal information that was told in confidence,” but, she said, “I can’t stand by and watch him lie.” In an interview with The New Yorker, she said, “Mark told me a very different story.” Rasor recalled that Judge had told her ashamedly of an incident that involved him and other boys taking turns having sex with a drunk woman. Rasor said that Judge seemed to regard it as fully consensual. She said that Judge did not name others involved in the incident, and she has no knowledge that Kavanaugh participated. But Rasor was disturbed by the story and noted that it undercut Judge’s protestations about the sexual innocence of Georgetown Prep.

Judge’s lawyer, Barbara Van Gelder, told the New Yorker that he “categorically denies” Rasor’s claims. But according to the Washington Post, which obtained a letter from Rasor’s lawyer sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Rasor is ready to testify about them under oath. Ms. Rasor’s recollection of what occurred is stated accurately in the New Yorker piece and she would welcome the opportunity to share this information with agents of the FBI as part of a re-opened background investigation.

While Rasor did not name Kavanaugh, her recollection of Judge’s admission sounds very similar to the account given by Julie Swetnick, who alleged on Wednesday that Judge and Kavanaugh were both present during her gang rape in 1982 as well as those of other girls at the same time.

It also highlights the absurdity of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s continued refusal to call Judge to testify. After Ford’s allegations became public last week, Judge sent a letter to both Sens. Chuck Grassley and Dianne Feinstein saying that he didn’t recall the party where the alleged assault took place, and that he “never saw Brett act in the manner that Dr. Ford describes.”

“I have no more information to offer the Committee and I do not wish to speak publicly regarding the incidents described in Dr. Ford’s letter,” Judge said. Earlier this week, the Washington Post found Judge hiding out at a friend’s beach house in Delaware. In a statement to Splinter, Van Gelder said, “Mr. Judge is not speaking publicly during the pendency of the Kavanaugh confirmation proceedings.”
