Pennsylvania's GOP Candidate for Governor Issues Violent Threat to His Rival in Deranged Video

Elections

Civility is dead and buried, so it was only a matter of time before a candidate for office threatened to physically harm his opponent, in public, without shame.

That’s what finally happened in a truly insane Facebook Live video Scott Wagner, the Republican nominee in the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race, posted on Friday. He was apparently incensed when he came across a billboard campaign ad supporting Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf—angry enough to threaten to violently bash his face in. (Things really heat up around 2:20 in.)

“Your people said that I’ve raised a white flag. Well, Gov. Wolf, let me tell you, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m gonna stomp all over your face with golf spikes, because I’m gonna win this for the state of Pennsylvania,” Wagner rants in the video.

“I’m sick and tired of your negative ads!” he continues. “Enough is enough!”

Wagner, a businessman inclined towards conspiracy theories and climate denying, is another one of the GOP’s terrible crop of candidates challenging elected Democrats in 2018. He is trailing Wolf badly, but honestly, people will probably like this. Such is the world we must live in for the next month before Election Day, and then every day after that.
