The 'Drunk History' on Marsha P. Johnson puts Roland Emmerich's 'Stonewall' to shame

Remember when Roland Emmerich took it upon himself, unprompted, to make a shitty movie about the Stonewall riots that centered the seminal moment in LGBTQ history on a fictional, midwestern white gay guy who never existed? Probably not because only like 17 people saw it in theaters! Well anyway WHO CARES because last night’s episode of Drunk History set its droopy-lidded, blurred-eyed sights on Stonewall, and (╯°□°）╯< "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!") it was so good it'll make you forget all about Roland Emmerich's Badwall starring Who? and Didhisbest Withthematerial.

The show, which pairs inebriated people’s semi-coherent recollections of a historical event with dramatized versions of their less-than-sober ramblings, found its drunk historian in The Read co-host Crissle West, who previously appeared on the Comedy Central series to tell the tale of Harriet Tubman and her “army of bad bitches.” West kills it, once again, as she recounts the exploits of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera—played by Transparent‘s Alexandra Grey and Trace Lysette, respectively—two trans women of color who led the Stonewall riots of 1969 and also more importantly actually existed. West even got in a mention of Street Transvestites Action Revolutionaries, aka STAR, Marsha and Sylvia’s organization that advocated for the needs of homeless queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming New Yorkers! On Comedy Central! The same Comedy Central that used to air Crank Yankers and shit! What a world. Watch it below.
