Pre-sale tickets sold like gangbusters and now it’s only a matter of time before thousands of people fill movie theaters around the world to see what became of the Skywalker clan. With all that being said, a number of theaters planning to see monstrous crowds would like everyone to know that there are a few things that won’t be permitted into the screenings.
“Star Wars costumes are welcome,” a Cinemark spokesperson said in a public statement. “However, no face coverings, face paint, or simulated weapons (including lightsabers/blasters) will be allowed in the building.”
AMC, somewhat more sympathetic to the plight of all Force-sensitives, will allow powered down lightsabers.
“AMC does not permit weapons or items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience,” AMC explained. “In short, bring your lightsaber, turn it off during the movie, and leave the blaster and Darth Vader mask at home.”
