Trump's son says waterboarding is just like what happens at frat houses 'every day'

GOP presidential candidate Donald J. Trump said this weekend, again, that if he becomes president he would “approve more than waterboarding” to fight ISIS.

And on Monday, Trump’s son Eric doubled down on the statement, saying on Fox’s On the Record With Greta Van Susteren that his dad is right. Specifically, he said that waterboarding “quite frankly, is no different than what happens on college campuses and frat houses every day.”

That statement happens right around minute 21:52 of the show:

You see these terrorists that are flying planes into buildings. You see our cities getting shot up in California. You see Paris getting shot up. And then somebody gets complained when a terrorist gets waterboarded, which quite frankly is no different than what happens on college campuses in frat houses every day.

Waterboarding is a form of torture that simulates the experience of drowning that is considered a war crime in addition to being an ineffective way to gather information. It is not similar to even the most vile hazing techniques.

In any case, we offer condolences to Eric Trump’s alma mater, which presumably did not appreciate the implications of that dumb comment.
