Watch Ana Navarro shut down a Trump supporter over his 'pussy' line

As the fallout over the tape of Donald Trump chummily discussing “grab[bing women] by the pussy” with Billy Bush continues, Trump surrogates on cable TV have had a rough go of it. To wit: Scottie Nell Hughes, who elsewhere excused his comments by saying they’re proof he “loves beautiful women,” got shouted down by Republican strategist Ana Navarro for asking a CNN panel to stop directly quoting Trump’s words.

“This is a man consistently disgusted me from the first day of the campaign, and I think that every single Republican is going to have to answer the question, what did you do the day you saw the tape about this man boasting about grabbing a woman’s pussy?” Navarro said, prompting Hughes to request that she stop using “that word.”

“You know what Scottie?” Navarro responded. “Don’t tell me you’re offended when I say pussy, but you’re not offended when Donald Trump says it. I’m not running for president, he is. Don’t act outraged and offended when I say the word when you’re not offended by the man you’re supporting. That’s absurd.”

Hughes said that she, too, had been offended by Trump’s use of the word, but said during a different appearance on CNN that “no woman woke up affected” by his words.
