Air Force One's getting an upgrade—possibly because it's too beige (???)
People who wax nostalgic on the the ’90s often forget how beige everything was. Everything was beige! And the 25-year-old Boeing airplanes currently flying under code name Air Force One are no exception. That’s probably why those aircraft are finally getting a modern upgrade—too much beige!
The Air Force is asking for approximately $3 billion over the next five years to build a new fleet that will fly under the Air Force One banner, The New York Times reports. The planes that currently use the moniker–a pair of Boeing 747-200Bs, along with some smaller aircraft—debuted in 1990 during George H. W. Bush’s presidency. And it shows! Look at these photos!
