Apartment for rent in Pittsburgh: One bed, one bath, creepy gothic Lolita doll
This rental is fully-loaded: It’s got one bedroom, one bathroom, hardwood floors, kitchen with dishwasher, human-sized living doll haunting your every step.
Just kidding, she doesn’t come with the apartment, but you might think she does after looking at this listing from Pittsburgh rental company CA Properties.
The ad for a Lawrenceville, Pa., apartment was posted last week, and appears completely normal in every respect, except for the woman wearing a large pink dress and bonnet present in photos of an otherwise bare apartment. The outfit’s style appears to mimic the Japanese “gothic Lolita” look.
A search of Reddit’s r/Pittsburgh forums shows that the woman has shown up a few times in the last year on CA Properties listings, triggering debate as to whether she is a model, a mannequin, or a shared hallucination. The jury’s still out on mass hallucinations, but this YouTube video of her wandering through a vacant apartment would support the “person” theory.
We’ve been trying to get in touch with someone at CA Properties with little luck. Local TV station WTAE fared better, talking to David Paolo, who the station describes as the head of CA Properties.
Paolo said he hired the “Loligoth” model because he “wanted something that would make people do a double-take. It generates a lot of comments.”
Okay, mission accomplished in that respect. But has anyone rented the apartment yet? They might want ask if, in addition to heat and hot water, an exorcism is also included.
