Selfies! People sure love ’em! The 78-year-old Pope, who is in the United States for the first time in his life, is seeing a wild American phenomenon firsthand: a bunch of people snapping selfies with him, from both near and far. We’re so lucky.

Based on the reaction the Pope is giving in some of these pictures, it doesn’t seem like he’s really down with the whole selfie business. Apparently, his previous experience with selfie-mania did not prepare him properly for today. Oh, well. To the selfies!
