How the rise and fall of Jared from Subway played out on Vine

On Tuesday, federal officers raided the home of Subway’s Jared Fogle as part of a child pornography investigation.

Jared served as the face (and very large pants) of Subway for several years, and built a career out of losing weight through a Subway diet. Yesterday, more than a decade of public goodwill towards Jared crumbled as the details of the case emerged — according to the Indianapolis Star, yesterday’s raid followed the May arrest of Russell Taylor, head of Fogle’s nonprofit devoted to promoting healthy eating in children.

Taylor has since been charged with several counts related to possession and production of child pornography, and some documents recovered from his computer were apparently linked to Fogle and The Jared Foundation.

It’s not clear yet what will happen to Jared, legally, though his lawyer says he is cooperating with authorities. We do know that he and Subway have parted ways.

Americans have had a deep and storied relationship with our Subway spokesman, and it’s possible to cover the case and public reaction to it on social media.
