Pat Robertson: ISIS executions are "maybe the best thing that ever happened to the world"

Pat Robertson, a bigotry-themed random word generator that long ago assumed human form, is at it again.

Earlier this week, on his somehow-still-on-the-air TV show The 700 Club, the 85-year-old televangelist and founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network promoted a book called Islam: Religion of Peace or War? While praising the book, Robertson speculated that maybe, just maybe, ISIS’s beheadings had been a net positive for the world, since they made people pay attention to the dangers of Islam.

Robertson said:

“Maybe the best thing that ever happened to the world is for these crazies in ISIS to keep on beheading people and doing some of these extreme things.”

The quote has locked up a spot in the Pat Robertson Crazytalk Hall of Fame, next to classics like “Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians” and “Many of those people involved in Adolf Hitler were Satanists. Many were homosexuals. The two things seem to go together.”
