Snapchat’s latest upgrade is making teens mad as heck

Do not mess with Snapchat—or else. As a man once wrote, “Being a product manager at Snapchat is like being Harry Styles’ barber. Change one little thing, and the wrath of a million teens will rain down upon you.” But! As another man once wrote, “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” So, it can really go either way.

Anyway, Snapchat made another change this week, and—as is customary—the teens are NOT HAPPY. This latest switch? Something called Auto-Advance Stories, described as “when you finish a Story, the next one begins automatically.” This means, sometimes, you gotta watch stories from friends you might not necessarily want to watch, because their story will automatically play right after another story. This also means that people are notified that you watched their story, even if you didn’t intend to.

Which, not to be rude, seems rude.

As promised, there are mad teens. Cue the mad teens (and some non-teens):

There are many more mad teens.
