The GOP candidates' responses to the State of the Union are exactly what you'd expect

The 2016 GOP candidates had some thoughts about President Obama’s final State of the Union address, and vocalized them on social and traditional media. The are not surprising. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Carly Fiorina took the opportunity to throw shade at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, and mention Benghazi:


Donald Trump critiqued the tone of the speech:

Jeb Bush responded with some fear mongering:

And acted as if Obama inherited a healthy economy instead of one on the brink of collapse:

Rand Paul did the same, and offered other angry words on the president:

And was mad:

Ben Carson responded with some nonsense:

and also fear mongered:

Chris Christie said… nothing? Here’s his most recent tweet:

Ted Cruz offered just a teaser for his take online:

He, also, criticized Obama for not spending more time talking about terrorism and not speaking the words “radical Islamic terrorism.” He also threw out the phrase “state of denial.”

Marco Rubio called Obama’s presidency disastrous, but was optimistic about the future:

And John Kasich said that, effectively, Obama was too inexperienced to be president: “On-the-job training in this presidency has marched us down a trail of failure and left America weaker, divided and adrift.”
