That’s actually been the case for at least three of the past four survey periods. Here are the full results for all upper-income teens, as well as male and female teens: Soccer is comfortably No. 1 for females, and trails by just 2 percentage points among males at No. 3.
By contrast, football returned to the No. 1 spot among average-income teens (for whom the average annual household income was $52,000) after dropping to No. 3 last spring — when soccer jumped to No. 1. But it remained No. 1 among average-income females. Here are the full average-income teen results:
Jaffray received approximately 2,700 responses from upper-income teens and 6,700 from average-income teens.
