Hi friend, how are you holding up? Yeah, Donald Trump is still going to be president and there is an abysmal absence of Democratic values in congress, and we definitely lost the Supreme Court for a generation, so it’s probably safe to assume you’re somewhere between furious, despondent, vulnerable, and fucking fired up. Particularly if you’re Muslim, Latinx, disabled, black, any POC for that matter, or um, a woman. Well if you’re still trapped in an emotional morass, Seth Meyers is in the same boat and is here to empathize.

Last night, Meyers teared up as he shared his disbelief, his heartbreak, and a little bit of hope. “I do really feel for the parents who had to explain this to their kids this morning,” he said. “Especially parents with daughters because a lot of them like me probably thought that Hillary would be our first woman president, but she won’t be. But that does mean that someone’s daughter is out there right now who will one day have that title.”
