Uber fires driver after passenger records him fondling himself in the backseat

According to Uber’s website, every one of their drivers is “thoroughly screened through a rigorous process.” This “rigorous process” didn’t work all too well in filtering out this Avalon, New Jersey driver, who locked himself in the back of a car with a female passenger and then proceeded to fondle himself while whispering “you’re so beautiful.”


The passenger’s friend posted the video on Facebook more than a week ago, saying the driver “got in the backseat and started fondling himself.” According to a statement issued to Fusion, Uber has “permanently removed” the driver from working with them, but did not respond to a specific inquiry about whether they planned on adjusting their screening policy as a result of the incident.

One of the main perks listed by Uber on their driver sign-up site is a work environment with “no office, no boss.”

“Choose when you drive, where you go, and who you pick up,” they write.
