Zoe Kravitz as Laney Boggs? A diverse 'She's All That' remake is in the works, and this is our dream cast

The Wrap is reporting that The Weinstein Company and Miramax have a She’s All That remake in the works. The hit ’90s high school comedy will be directed by Kenny Leon and produced by Tonya Lee Lewis.

Tracking Board first reported the remake news, and not only does it make us feel old (won’t the ’90s always feel like just ten years ago?), it makes us hopeful: The cast of this updated take is reportedly going to be far more diverse than the more homogenous original feature.

Hollywood, here is our dream cast:

Zoe Kravitz as Laney Boggs

Laney Boggs, the “she” in She’s All That, is the prototypical “nerd-girl-who-is-suddenly-hot-without-glasses.” The film is a take on My Fair Lady, which, of course, is inspired by Pygmalion. Rachel Leigh Cook played the mousey teen to a T, but we are excited to see the character rebooted for 2015. While Zoe Kravitz has inherited model-good looks, we think she can play them down, return to her pixie cut, and pop on a pair of “nerd glasses” (that will later be removed in her caterpillar to butterfly transition).

Alfred Enoch as Zack Siler

It’s true, Alfred Enoch always plays nerds. From Dean Thomas in the Harry Potter franchise, to Bainbridge on Sherlock, to Wes Gibbins on HTGAWM, he has the academically-impressive, yet socially-awkward thing on lock. However, we want him to play reluctant douche, Zack Siler in the new She’s All That. And why not? He’s a fantastic actor, he has a long neck like Freddie Prinze Jr., and he’s a total babe.

Malese Jow as Taylor Vaughn

Taylor Vaughan (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) is the popular hot girl who, after recently dumping Zack, is totally intimidated by the new, cuter girl, Laney. She’s got exactly zero chill. In one particularly sad scene after spilling milk on Laney, Taylor says:

Honey, look around you. To everyone here who matters, you’re vapor, you’re spam, a waste of perfectly good yearbook space, and nothing’s ever gonna change that.

Ouch. Still, this role must be filled, and we’re interested to see Malese Jow from The Flash and The Vampire Diaries give her rude side a chance to shine.

Diego Boneta as Dean Sampson

No one can replace Paul Walker (RIP), but we’d like to see Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages, Pretty Little Liars) try on his role as Dean Sampson. This Mexican actor is so fine. And a beautiful Broadway singer. Yes, our bodies are ready.

Avan Jogia as Brock Hudson

No one’s as big of a d-bag as Brock Hudson — Taylor’s new, vapid, asshole of a boyfriend whose only claim to fame is being on The Real World once upon a time. Is there any surprise that their meet-cute occurs on a gross spring break trip? One look and Taylor dumps the super-cute Zack Siler for this moron. Agh. Luckily for us, Avan Jogia (Twisted, SpikeTV’s upcoming mini-series Tut) is bae and has the acting chops to play an insufferable jerk (but still look damn good doing it).

The original movie was incredibly star-studded (Gabrielle Union, Usher, Anna Paquin, hello???), and there are loads more characters to re-cast, but this is a pretty solid start. Production dates are yet unreleased, but we’re hoping it’s not too far away because this movie could be EVERYTHING!
