A bear wandered into a Montana high school this morning

A bear, having learned nothing from teen movies and television, went to high school this morning.

Against the fine advice of such movies as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and She’s the Man, a bear visited Bozeman High school in (you guessed it!) Bozeman, Montana.

Here’s a video of the high school bear:

Superintendent Rob Watson told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle the bear was spotted in the school’s football field around 7:30 this morning by members of the booster club.

It was “kind of sniffing around the edge of the building,” and then got into the school via a garage, eventually making its way into a long hallway.

Students made their way into classrooms, and Bozeman police worked with school officials to scoot the bear on out of there. KXLF reports that officials said “the entire incident took place within 2 or 3 minutes and the bear was quick and skittish.” (I would be too! Jeez!)

According to Watson, this is the first time a bear has entered the school.

“I’m sure we’ve had animals in the school before,” he told the Chronicle, “but I’m not aware of a bear.”

You are now, Superintendent Watson! Congrats!!!
