China is Accepting Applications for Panda Babysitters
What’s black and white and cute all over? Pandas! So how would you like to get paid to babysit one?
According to China Daily, officials at the Bifengxia Panda Center in Ya’an (in China’s Sichuan province) are looking for official panda caretakers. You’d be living off 200,000 yuan (roughly $32,000) a year, plus you’d get free meals, accommodations, and an SUV for your own personal use. Organizers say panda caretakers would have “only one mission: spending 365 days with the pandas and sharing in their joys and sorrows.” How sorrowful can a panda get? The job can’t be that easy, right?
