'Gilmore Girls' is coming back and everyone is freaking out
It’s been eight long years since the sleepy (but always fun!) Connecticut town of Stars Hollow disappeared from our lives (unless you’ve been re-watching the show on Netflix). But TV Line reports Netflix has just closed a deal with Warner Bros. to bring Gilmore Girls back for four glorious 90-minute special episodes, written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Michael Ausiello writes:
Although negotiations with the cast are only now beginning, I’m told all of the major players — most notably Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson — are expected back for the continuation. Additionally, per multiple insiders, the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.
That’s right–Rory, Lorelai, Emily and Luke are CONFIRMED. The only thing this fan wants to know though is whether Rory’s best boyfriend (bad boy turned novelist Jess, obviously) will be coming back as well. Let me know when Milo Ventimiglia is on board–then I’ll start breaking out the huge cups of coffee to celebrate.
There’s no specific release date yet, but in the meantime there are so many memories to relive. Jess and Dean fighting at the school dance, passive aggressive dinners at Richard and Emily’s, Rory and Lorelai’s falling out, Lorelai and Luke’s will-they-won’t-they relationship and so much more to catch up on. Gilmore Girls fans on Twitter are ready:
