Mueller Has ‘Tens of Thousands’ of Trump Transition Emails, Report Says

No wonder Team Trump and GOP lawmakers appear increasingly
nervous about the Russia probe and Special Counselor Robert Mueller. According
to a report by Axios on Saturday, Mueller has
obtained “tens of thousands” of emails from 12 accounts belonging to
Trump’s transition team.

These accounts include Trump’s foreign–policy and political
teams that operated during the transition, Axios said. The cache reportedly also
has “sensitive emails of Jared Kushner.”

Twitter exploded as the weekend approached with rumors that
Mueller would soon bring an indictment against the president’s controversial
son–in–law. Those rumors were fueled by a report in The Washington Post that revealed Kushner’s legal team is trying to
hire a
crisis public relations firm.

According to Axios:

The transition emails are said to include sensitive
exchanges on matters that include potential appointments, gossip about the
views of particular senators involved in the confirmation process, speculation
about vulnerabilities of Trump nominees, strategizing about press statements,
and policy planning on everything from war to taxes.

Mueller is using the emails to
fact–check and generate new leads.

The funniest part of the story is that it seems to have
taken members of Trump’s transition team by surprise. Mueller obtained the
emails from the General Services Administration, which hosted the transition’s
email system.

On Friday, Trump denied
any wrongdoing in the Russia probe, telling reporters on the White House
South Lawn, “There is absolutely no collusion.”

After news broke about the emails, Trump TV (aka
Fox News) and the president’s attorneys wasted no time in attacking
Mueller, accusing him of “unlawful conduct.” Many have speculated that
Trump may attempt to fire Mueller as early as next week.
