Paul Ryan Pauses Important Maxine Waters Attack to Vaguely Criticize White Supremacist Buddy
Today, Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan insisted that Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters should apologize for her suggestion to protest Trump administration officials in public spaces.
Per Ryan:
When we, in this democracy, are suggesting that because we disagree with people on political views, on policy views, on philosophical views, that we should resort to violence and harassment and intimidation that’s dangerous for our society, dangerous for our democracy, and she should apologize and there’s just no place for that in our public discourse.
But hold on a sec. What about all those Republicans who, say, are actual, Nazi-loving white supremacists? Republicans like, oh, I dunno…Steve “Here’s a Confederate flag on my desk even though I live in Iowa” King?
Ryan was very eager to go after Waters just a couple days after her comments. For some reason, though, he waited two weeks to be pushed into commenting on that time one of his own congressmen retweeted an actual, Hitler-loving Nazi.
