Skippy peanut butter recalled in seven states
Hormel Foods, the manufacturer of Skippy, is voluntarily recalling 153 cases of the the peanut butter product because it might contain metal shavings. Not a fun addition to your PB&J.
The company said the 16.3 ounce jars of the Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread variety marked with sell by dates of DEC1416LR1 and UPC code 37600-10500 are the jars that might have been affected.

Publix, Target, and Walmart stores in Arkansas, Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina received shipments of the possibly faulty peanut butter.
According to the FDA, ingesting the shavings could be disastrous:
Foodborne objects that are greater than 7mm in length may cause injury such as severe choking with airway obstruction, gastrointestinal peroration or secondary infection.
So far, the FDA hasn’t received any reports of injuries or customer complaints.
