Ann Coulter's Meltdown Over a $30 Delta Upgrade Is Making Me Cheer for an Airline and I Hate It

What could possibly be worse than someone angrily tweeting their discontents with the general state of air travel, then tweeting at their airline of choice a million times? Easy: when unpleasant human Ann Coulter does it.

The conservative writer went nuclear while traveling to Florida on Saturday after she said Delta Airlines gave away her seat—one with extra legroom that she said was “carefully chosen in advance and booked”and went so far as to tweet a photo of the passenger she claimed Delta gave her exit row seat away to.

More than 30 tweets from Coulter later, Delta wasn’t having it, and responded to chide Coulter for being such a huge pain in the ass.

“We are disappointed that the customer has chosen to publicly attack our employees and other customers by posting derogatory and slanderous comments and photos in social media,” the airline said in a statement. “Delta expects mutual civility throughout the entire travel experience. We will refund Ms. Coulter’s $30 for the preferred seat on the exit row that she purchased.”

Coulter was still going in the wee hours of Monday morning, going on to claim that booking her ticket with a seat assignment cost $10,000 of her time.

The airlines are good again.
