Donald Trump Jr.'s Wife Sent to Hospital After Opening Letter Containing Suspicious White Powder

Donald Trump Jr.’s wife Vanessa was sent to the hospital on Monday after she reportedly began to feel ill upon opening a letter filled with a suspicious white powder which was sent to her New York City home.

Although a police spokesperson told the Associated Press that tests had shown the powder wasn’t dangerous, Trump was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after police said she was coughing and felt nauseous.

Trump called 911 on Monday morning after opening the letter, which was addressed to Donald Trump Jr. and sent to their Midtown, Manhattan apartment. The pair have five young children.

The Secret Service and members from the New York Police Department’s intelligence unit are investigating the incident.

UPDATE, 3:06 pm ET: The Daily Mail reports Vanessa Trump was at her parents’ New York City apartment when she opened the letter around 10 a.m. and that her mother handled the letter before passing it to her daughter.

While the police have not yet publicly commented on what the substance was, law enforcement sources told the New York Post it was cornstarch.
