Kellyanne Conway Becomes the Latest Republican to Pick a Dumb Fight With Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway was back on her bullshit Tuesday, appearing on Fox News (where else?) and using her ability to speak with the full authority of the White House in order to an provoke an incomprehensible fight with Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is currently a private citizen with zero legislative power.

Without naming her, Conway called Ocasio-Cortez a “29-year-old congresswoman who doesn’t seem to know much about anything.” Again, Ocasio-Cortez has not been sworn in yet. Conway also seemingly took particular offense at Ocasio-Cortez’s recent tweet regarding outgoing White House chief of Staff John Kelly, a garbage person whose garbage comments about Rep. Frederica Wilson have, to date, been pretty much allowed to stand without consequence.

As the Miami Herald noted this week, Kelly has never apologized for his ghoulish—and, shocker! totally bogus—attacks on Rep. Wilson, following her criticism of Trump’s handling of a condolence call to the family of one of her constituents last year. After her public spat with Kelly and the White House, Wilson received death threats and even nooses in the mail, according to the Herald.

Continuing her whine-fest about Ocasio-Cortez, Conway added:

For her to even use a slur against him yesterday, and I won’t repeat her name or the slur, but let me stand up for General John Kelly. He has done a magnificent job for this country for almost 50 years.

Presumably Conway was referring to the use of “cowardice” when she called Ocasio-Cortez’s comments a “slur,” which, if that’s the case, just wait until Conway hears some of the things her boss has called people over the years.

Finally, Conway also used her Fox News appearance to offer this profound piece of wisdom on the train wreck search for a new White House Chief of Staff:

People focus way too much on the chief part—the person who’s with the principal most often, the person who is interfacing with the rest of cabinet for example. But the ‘of staff’ part is also important.
