Weeks after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, President Donald Trump flew to the island on Tuesday.
After making remarks at a press event about how expensive it is to help restore electricity and provide necessary medical care and food to millions of Americans, Trump visited Calvary Chapel in Guaynabo, where he chucked supplies into the crowd like he was a T-shirt cannon operator doing an impression of a child basketball player.
The White House press pool described the “well-staged event” as “a surreal scene.”
“Then in his best Stephen Curry impersonation,” pool reporter Adrian Carrasquillo wrote, “Trump held up his arm and softly shot paper towels into the crowd, which they enjoyed.”
