Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, and Other Celebrities Wish Beyoncé Happy Birthday in ‘Formation’ Tribute

Beyoncé turns 36 today, and to honor Queen Bey, several women, including close friend and former first lady Michelle Obama paid tribute by replicating the stunning wide–brimmed hat and long braids featured in her brilliant “Formation” video.

The 18 images of famous women including Halle Bailey, Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland, and others are at Beyoncé’s website with a giant “Happy Birthday” message. As BuzzFeed points out, the former first lady, whom we all miss in the White House, has a long–standing friendship with Bey, who sang for Barack and Michelle Obama during their first dance together as president and first lady at the 2009 inaugural ball.

The message also urges fans to help support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Houston, Beyoncé’s hometown, via the hashtag #BeyGOODHouston, a collaborative effort Bey started with Texas foundations.
