Novak Djokovic, like Aaron Rodgers, stands at the pinnacle of his sport; Djokovic, like Rodgers, took some time at a press conference yesterday to make a moving political statement. While Rodgers admonished a racist fan, Djokovic spoke to the exodus of Syrian refugees to safer harbors following his match at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

“You have to get to the bottom of that, have to get to the cause,” Djokovic said. “The cause is the war back in their country. You can’t blame these people. If they don’t have a house, have nothing, where are they going to go? Of course, they have to search for some better place to live.”
